Message it should already be clear, but just to make it like crystal, i don't claim to be a competent fabricator nor do i know how this is going to stand up over time (i can think of at least one way in which it might end up failing), but here's how i mounted my component tweeters in my door air ducts. this was a bit of a rush job for me as i'm moving in a few weeks, need to get the z back together, and really wanted to have the stereo complete at that time. otherwise, i likely would have done this differently.

the tweeters came with 3 different types of mounting pods. the black part surrounding the tweeter is the mounting pod i chose to use. the tweeter itself twist locks into the mounting pod.

my main problem was that there wasn't an easy way to attach the pod to the duct work out of the box. to deal with this i went to lowes looking for l shaped metal or plastic brackets, and came away with these, which came in a pack of 10:

using 4 screws that came with the mounting pods, i bore starter holes into the plastic brackets, then mounted one side of the brackets to the pods:

then i popped in the tweeters and played with various orientations until i found something that looked like it'd work. once i determined approximately where i wanted to attach the other side of the bracket to the duct work, i basically eye balled where i'd need to drive the screw through the duct work to mount the tweeter how i had mocked it up. the tolerances are loose enough that for me, this worked:

ta-da:

just how one guy got it done...at least for now. i haven't installed the ductwork/door panels yet, so i don't know how it's going to sound.
